Bremont Makes Norton Motor Bikes Watch

The Bremont watch company are making a watch for the venerable English motorbike manufacture Norton. Famous for their Norton Cammando and their 20th Century Isle of Man TT wins…. their new bikes look pretty good as does their new Bremont watch inspired by motor cycle speedo clocks of the past.

I have been wearing one for the weekend and have to say the styling is spot on for a hefty tool watch. There will be a limited run trying to keep this one…Lol!

Very Rare Porsche

Well it was truly a great day…. amazing weather, amazing cars…. great corporate hospitality… who new Quatar Airlines had it in them eh?

Very cool cars and good company, I was a ‘tad’ tired having had tech problems launching the bare bones of my new merchant area until 3.30am while leaving for the day at 5.00am… zzzzzzzz!

Big thanks to the Bremont for getting us in to the event on the tick…to Dave S for some Stirling driving, Jonathan as an old hand for showing us around and giving us the ‘inside track’ so to speak and that invite to that lovely little bar he new about just tucked away by the car park was a stroke of genius…

My pictures are far from comprehensive so I am hoping others have done better….

I have opened a Gallery under ATG GTG Goodwood 2009 that you all should be able to access so chuck your pics in there… a sample anyway then everyone can have a good look…..

Gloster Meteor Test Ejection

A while ago Nick let slip that Bremont might do some testing with an Ejector seat company. Well ‘Rumour’ has it that Bremont has been working for the past few months on a joint testing and development program for a new range of aeronautical watches.

They have been working with the very established firm of Martin Baker LINK http://www.martin-baker.com/ (who make 85% of the western worlds ejection seats – including the F15, F16, Euro-Fighter, Harrier, Tornado, Joint Strike Fighter etc etc – in fact all fighter aircraft you could probably think of… lol!

Ejection seats go off with forces of over 30g and the time is less than 2 seconds from the time the handle is pulled to the time the pilot is hanging in the parachute.

Bremont owned French Airforce Broussard

Last night members of the ATG Forum met up with Nick English from Bremont Watches for a beer, a chat about their EP120 and a quick trip over the Berkshire & Oxfordshire Countryside, looking at some big houses in Bremonts own Broussard vintage aircraft.

Brief history of White Waltham Airfield
In 1928, the de Havilland family aquired the land and formed the de Havilland School of Flying which opened in 1935. The MOD requisitioned it for use during World War II and in 1940 it became the HQ for the Air Transport Auxiliary (ATA) whose members were responsible for the delivery of all aircraft to and from RAF stations. During the war years the ATA achieved a remarkable 309,000 aircraft movements enabling the RAF to concentrate exclusively on operations.

White Waltham has also been home to Fairey Aviation, manufacturers of aircraft such as the Gannet and Rotodyne. It has been a civilian airfield and the home of the West London Aero Club since the early post-war years.

So arrived at 7.10pm, time for a quick pint of Bitter (that’s proper beer) and a chance to have a proper look at the Bremont EP120. I saw it in the flesh at their Charity Auction a couple of weeks ago but it was dark, there was alot of camera flashes going off least of all from the Paperazzi trying to get a shot of Orlando Bloom who was there also……

Well in day light it looks really very good indeed, Nick streesed that this is still a prototype, the rubber Spitfire tyre tread on the crowns is worn and will eventually be knurled from steel. The barrel of the case will be lighter than the DLC top coating but largely it will look like it does here…. fantastic.
